Vijayan is the undefeated Malaysian Boxing champion in 1980s. He won the national title in 1978 and managed to brush aside jis challengers until 1985. He has represented Malaysia in the SEA Games in Manila (1981) and Singapore (1983). He had hung up his gloves after a memorable career spanning over a decade.
